The issuance of annual vehicle revenue licenses holds a prominent place among the core services provided by the Central Province Department of Transport. As this service is delivered directly to the public—both through the Department’s main office and via all Divisional Secretariat offices across the Central Province—the efficiency, accuracy, promptness, and customer-friendliness of this process have a direct impact on the quality of the public service. Therefore, it is of great importance to develop the attitudes, communication skills, ability to interact with clients, and understanding of professional responsibilities among the officers engaged in these duties.
To achieve these objectives, a program aimed at enhancing the subject-specific knowledge and capacity of officers responsible for issuing vehicle revenue licenses at all Divisional Secretariats in the Central Province was held on August 15, 2026, at the auditorium of the National Institute of Cooperative Development in Polgolla.
Resource contributions for this capacity-building program were provided by Ms. Ayomi Doolwala, Assistant Secretary at the Central Provincial Ministry of Road Development. For the program focused on developing subject-specific knowledge, resources were provided by Mr. Sanjeewa Aluthwatta (System Administrator, Revenue License Unit of the Department of Transport), as well as Ms. Nayomi Bambaradeniya and Ms. Nilusha Edirisinghe, who serve in supervisory roles.
