The private bus service is a distinct profession that plays a pivotal role in the country’s public transport system. It is essential to enhance the quality of service provided by the drivers engaged in this sector, enabling them to be recognized by society as professional drivers. Through this, the private bus service can evolve into a transport service that is both comfortable and highly accessible to the general public.
To achieve these objectives, the initial phase of a series of awareness programs—aimed at fostering attitudinal development among private bus drivers and conductors in the Central Province—was successfully conducted on May 20 and 27, 2026, at the auditorium of the Central Province Passenger Transport Services Authority.
Resource support for these awareness programs was provided by Ms. Niluka Dissanayake, a psychological counselor from the Ministry of Social Empowerment; furthermore, the cooperation extended by the Chairman, the General Manager, and the staff of the Central Province Passenger Transport Services Authority was instrumental in the success of these programs.
